It’s that time again – for the 5th Annual Utah Purpose Economy Conference.
By Nicole Cox, Communications Fellow
What does it mean to be a green business? How can green companies make a difference? Join P3 Utah at the Utah Purpose Economy Conference (UPEC 2015) and discuss sustainable innovation in the face of environmental responsibility. This year’s theme is Scaling Up Impact, which focuses on how sustainable businesses can increase their level of influence on culture and policy. Learn how to scale up your efforts beyond campus and into Salt Lake.
The goals of the conference include looking for network expansion, increasing promotion of sustainable best practices in the office, and developing a marketplace that demands the types of services that sustainable businesses have to offer. The conference starts in just two weeks so check out the registration details below!
P3 Utah stands for People, Planet, and Profit, which are also referred to as the “triple-bottom-line.” This bottom line supports a holistic approach to ideal business practices. P3 Utah is a local non-profit led by business professionals and owners that believe in the advancement of sustainability. The University of Utah’s Sustainability Office has partnered with P3 Utah to host the conference on campus in an effort to provide convenient access for students, faculty, and staff to connect with the greater business community. Additionally, the conference includes a tour of the University’s newest LEED building, S.J. Quinney College of Law.
Registration for the conference is now open and as nonmembers, students are eligible to attend the conference at discounted rates. Not only is it a great opportunity to connect with like-minded folks on sustainability, but can also serve as a tool for future employment and provide skills that empower successful moves in the direction of eco-business. “This is the most powerful day of networking, insight, and inspiration available for people who want to direct the most force in our world!” says Steve Klass, Executive Director of P3 Utah.
