Edible Campus Gardens Volunteer Opportunities, Sept. 22-26

photoDid you know you can volunteer at the U of U Farmers Market? The Edible Campus Gardens produce stand is looking for volunteers to help sell veggies, manage recycling stations, and run the bicycle valet. We are looking for volunteers to fill the following shifts at the market on Thursday, Sept. 25:

  • 8 AM-10 AM: Meet at the Pioneer Garden for set up
  • 10 AM-12 PM: Meet at Tanner Plaza help manage the stand
  • 12 PM-2 PM: Meet at Tanner Plaza help manage the stand
  • 2 PM-3 PM: Meet at Tanner Plaza to help break down and clean up

Other work sessions include:

Monday

  • 9-11 AM Work Session @ Pioneer Garden
    • Tasks: plant cabbage, harvest for Fiana Bistro, dig up bed
  • 12-2 PM Work Session @ Pioneer Garden
    • Tasks: harvest potatoes, flag peppers

Tuesday

  • 9-11 AM Work Session @ Sill Garden
    • Tasks: construct new beds
  • 4-6 PM Work Session @ Sill Garden
    • Tasks: move soil into new beds, reseed peas

Wednesday

  • 4:30-6:30 PM Harvest Session @ Pioneer Garden
    • Tasks: Farmers Market harvest, compost/sift, cucurbit care, weeding, cover crop

Thursday

  • 8 AM- 3 PM Work Session @ Pioneer Garden
    • Prep for Farmers Market (RSVP)
