The University of Utah opens its 6th annual campus Farmers Market to the U community and the public on Thursday, August 29 from 10 am to 2 pm at Tanner Plaza (located between the Union and Student Services Building).
The Farmers Market links local growers, food producers, artisans, and non-profits with the campus community and visitors for a fun and tasty weekly event. Join us for another year to enjoy a great selection of fresh produce and foods from local businesses. Market highlights include the student-run Edible Campus Gardens produce booth and the University Dining Services’ popular lunch stand. Look for tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, garlic, onions, and more grown at the campus organic gardens.
New amenities to the U of U Farmers Market include bicycle valet parking courtesy of U of U Commuter Services and a Veggie Valet courtesy of University Dining Services. The Veggie Valet allows customers to store produce in coolers at the Market Manager’s booth while shopping around at other booths or eating lunch. When ready to pick up their produce, customers bring their claim ticket back to the booth. Produce can be picked up at the booth until 2:30 pm, and after can be picked up at the Food Court in the Union until 4:30 pm.
